Details About the Search Generative Experience
The Search Generative Experience is a feature by Google Labs which gives AI generated answers to your search queries. It is currently available only in English language and can only be accessed from India and Japan.
Some of the features claimed by Google are:
- Easy to learn about something when experience an impulsive need. For example, when you want to cook “chicken biriyani” without having to browse several recipes.
- Quick pointers when you are looking for a solution to a specific question.
- Summarize the opinion of people about something.
- Get straight answers.
- Asking follow up questions, easier than doing another round of Google searches.
Benefits That I Have Seen in Google SGE
The greatest benefit is the ability to search the internet and get results about things happening in real-time. This had become a frustration in other LLM models like ChatGPT which does not have the ability to browse the internet.
Further, with Google SGE, I get results with the ability to ask follow up questions and also links that I can use to read further.
Also, SGE is well integrated with a search engine, in this case Google, which helps in seeing other search results when I am not satisfied with the AI generated results.
